OK what?
You have questions, I know. Let me try to answer them.
Q. You mentioned D-list celebrities. Who exactly makes an appearance in TRAFOTBAHC?
A. To name only a few: Bill Shatner, Rob Ford, Donald J. Trump, Barack Obama, Lance Armstrong, Santa Claus, God, Vishnu, Lao Tzu, Stephen Hawking, Werner Heisenberg, Dr. Phil, Dr. Dre and Dr. Leonard McCoy. Plus many other 'stars' too desperate for exposure to come after me for being part of this ridiculous book.

Q. Game reports? that sounds kind of boring.
A. Ok not an actual question but technically, yes these are game reports and do occasionally contain important hockey-related details. But only in the same way that a hot dog from a street vendor contains actual meat, or a soccer game contains goals. Each chapter is a different format, and there were almost no repeats in spite of there being over 200 entries in total.

Q. Different formats? Like what?
A. I'm not sure I like your tone, but I'll answer your question anyway. There is a sci-fi story, a couple of poems (including some haiku), TV scripts, interview transcripts, political speeches, top secret military correspondence, a shameless riff on a famous Hemingway story, a children's bedtime story, a diary entry from the Aces' biggest fan, and many others. All are super short, perfect for sitting on the... bus.

Q. The title says Volume 1. Will there be a Volume 2? Just how many more reports are there?
There are over 200 in total, but not all are of the incredibly high quality you'll find in Volume 1 or potentially Volume 2. There are 54 in Volume 1 so there are enough good ones for another collection, depending on how the first one goes.

Q. Who is this book for?
There are around 100,000 recreational hockey players in Canada, plus more in the other hockey-playing nations - the U.S., Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and others. The book is for anyone who is playing or has ever played adult rec (aka Beer League) hockey. It was written for a specific bunch of guys but it could be about any beer league team anywhere.
It's definitely NOT for kids, so if you're looking for a nice Christmas present for your hockey-playing niece or nephew, this is not the book. It contains some swear words and some sexual content, so please look elsewhere if you're looking for a kid-friendly book.

Q. I'm still not convinced. Can I read a couple of chapters first?
Absolutely. You can read them right here.
Or you can head straight to the checkout and get your own copy of The Rise and Fall of the Black Aces Hockey Club in either hard copy or eBook versions. Or both.
